ASI attends the Accountable Investment forum to mitigate corrosive capital

ASI Convenor Samantha Abeywickrama represented the Alliance at the Global Forum on Accountable Investment organized by CIPE in Istanbul, Turkiye during September 11–13, 2023.

A week of productive discussions and exchanges ensued at the Forum in Istanbul, Türkiye where the ASI Convenor joined dynamic and passionate colleagues, partners, and guest speakers from every region CIPE works in (Africa, Asia-Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East) who shared on the ground perspectives and lessons learned on attracting accountable foreign investment.

ASI, as the newest global partner of CIPE, made its presence felt at the forum by sharing their experience as a coalition of civil society organizations promoting the principles of constructive capital, particularly in the Large Scale Infrastructure (LSI) sector. ASI Convenor also served as a member of the Session IV of the Forum, on "Identifying Key Issues and Building a Coalition".

The Forum provided a learning opportunity for ASI as partners shared a wealth of knowledge, experience and best practices on Mitigating Corrosive Capital and promoting Constructive Capital, and their collective wealth of knowledge will serve as a ready source of information and guidelines for ASI in its future work in the LSI sector in Sri Lanka.
